Before you decide to work with me, let me share a bit more about myself so you know who’s behind the camera

About Me.

Hi, I’m Veronika Kim, a Russian-born Korean with a deep passion for photography and storytelling. Though I don’t speak Korean, I’ve always been curious about my heritage and even tried learning the language. I spent over 30 years in Moscow, a beautiful and bustling city that shaped much of who I am today.

In 2020, I made the life-changing decision to move to the United States to be closer to my family. While I’m a proud New York citizen, I currently reside in Texas to support my dad and his business. Family is everything to me, and this decision brought us closer than ever.

What I Offer

I specialize in cinematic, candid photography, capturing the raw, unscripted emotions that make moments unforgettable. While candid shots are my favorite, I also create beautifully posed portraits that showcase your unique personality and style.

A Life of Passion

Whether I’m working as an operations professional or creating stunning photographs, my goal is always the same: to bring care, creativity, and meaning to everything I do. Photography isn’t just a profession for me—it’s a way of connecting with people and preserving the stories that matter most.

If you’d like to learn more about my work or book a session, feel free to reach out. I’d love to capture your most cherished moments and turn them into memories you’ll treasure forever.

My love for photography

began when I was 12 years old. My dad gifted me a Canon camera—one of the latest amateur models at the time—and I was instantly hooked. I captured everything I could, but I was especially drawn to the magic of editing. With no YouTube tutorials or easy guides back then, I taught myself Adobe Photoshop through sheer determination. Over time, I mastered it so well that I eventually became a Photoshop teacher.

Photography became more than just a hobby—it was a way of life. I’ve always seen myself as a visual artist, a “moment hunter,” striving to preserve fleeting emotions and memories forever. I even studied at an art school for three years, which helped refine my creative vision.

A pivotal moment in my journey came in 2008 when my cousin tragically passed away in a car accident. His mother, my aunt, shared that she didn’t have a single picture with him. That realization stayed with me, shaping my passion for photography into a mission: to create lasting memories for others, so no moment is ever lost.

Professional Experience

After graduating high school in 2009, I pursued a degree in operations management and built a successful career as a manager. I worked my way up to Chief Operations Officer at a major IT company in Russia, leading teams and implementing innovative solutions.

But throughout my professional journey, my camera was always by my side. I captured friends, coworkers, and even strangers on the street. I offered complimentary photo sessions whenever I had the time, which allowed me to experiment with lighting, angles, and storytelling techniques.

When I moved to the U.S., I saw an opportunity to finally pursue my dream of working as a full-time photographer. Today, I feel like the luckiest person in the world, doing what I love every single day.
